12/10/2021 26 Comments Spread some awesomeLook at the quote to the left. Your task this week is something a little different, it’s time to spread some awesome. Do one thing this week that spreads some major awesome by drawing a name in class (keep it to yourself… shhhh!), and writing a letter to that person in your blog post, listing 3 reasons that make that person really awesome. They can be anything- but think about character traits- what this person shows and does that makes them unique, special and well, AWESOME! You will write your blog post in a letter format. Here’s an example. Dear _______, Did you know how totally awesome you are?! Well, you are! Here are three reasons that make you so great and appreciated.
Sincerely, ___________ 12/3/2021 16 Comments December 03rd, 2021We were watching a movie with my nephew last weekend, called Trolls. The story was that the princess troll needed to go on a quest to save some of her friends who had been kidnapped by a giant. Very dramatic! She was trying to convince another troll to go with her to help in the rescue. The friend asked her what her big plan was. She replied, “To find the giant and rescue my friends.” He laughed and said, “That is not a plan, that’s a wish list!” I know, it’s just a cartoon, but it got me thinking. Without a plan, our goals are just wish lists.
Do you have a goal? It could be a big goal, like becoming an astronaut or an author. It could be a medium-sized goal, like learning to snowboard or making some new friends. It could be a smaller goal, like saving money to buy a new video game or breaking your nail-biting habit. Tell me about about at least one goal that is important to you, and describe your detailed plan to achieve it. Talk to your family and get some advice. It is OK to ask for help. How will you turn your ‘wish list’ into reality? 11/22/2021 17 Comments An Alternate EndingOver the past year, Covid-19 has really shown me how important entertainment is in our daily lives not only as a distraction, but as an influence in our own creative process. So much of what we enjoy in movies is due to specific ideas for the setting, music, character development and the ability for us to get attached to an evolving plot and world.
